Abstract
El objetivo de este trabajo de investigación fue el propósito de esta investigación fue determinar la relación entre las estrategias de lectura
en línea y el nivel de comprensión de lectura en inglés de alumnos de quinto grado de
secundaria del colegio Ricardo Palma, distrito de Ate, Lima. La habilidad de leer
contribuye de forma significativa a las otras habilidades del idioma inglés; de esta forma se
mejora la competencia en dicho idioma. Durante la pandemia del Covid-19, los estudiantes
de colegios públicos en Perú tuvieron que adaptarse a un entorno virtual y utilizar
frecuentemente WhatsApp. Para desarrollar su nivel de comprensión de lectura en inglés,
los estudiantes tuvieron que aplicar las estrategias aprendidas durante clase o las que
crearon ellos mismos empleando recursos en línea cuando era necesario. Considerando lo
anterior, realizamos una investigación con enfoque cuantitativo de tipo descriptivo.
Además, empleamos un diseño correlacional con un método descriptivo. La población y la
muestra estuvo conformada por 123 estudiantes del curso de inglés que pertenecen al
quinto año de secundaria. Se aplicaron cuestionarios y exámenes de comprensión de
lectura en inglés por WhatsApp luego de que fueran validados por jueces expertos. Luego
de probar la hipótesis, concluimos que las estrategias de lectura en línea tienen una
relación positiva muy baja con el nivel de comprensión de lectura en inglés de los
estudiantes de quinto grado de secundaria del colegio Ricardo Palma. Por ello, no existe
una relación significativa entre esas dos variables.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, students of public schools in Peru had to adapt to a virtual environment and use frequently WhatsApp. To develop your level of reading comprehension in English, the students had to apply the strategies learned during class or those that they created themselves using online resources when necessary. considering the above, we carried out an investigation with a quantitative approach of a descriptive type. In addition, we used a correlational design with a descriptive method. The population and the The sample consisted of 123 students of the English course who belong to the fifth year of high school. Questionnaires and comprehension tests of reading in English by WhatsApp after they were validated by expert judges. Then After testing the hypothesis, we conclude that online reading strategies have a very low positive relationship with the level of reading comprehension in English of the fifth grade high school students from the Ricardo Palma school. Therefore, there is no a significant relationship between these two variables.
