Abstract
Este estudio tuvo como objetivo establecer la relación entre la motivación y el
aprendizaje del idioma inglés en estudiantes de quinto grado de educación secundaria de la
Institución Educativa Pública San Juan del Distrito de San Juan, Provincia de Huamanga,
Región Ayacucho en el año 2019. Considerando que la motivación es un factor clave para
el aprendizaje del idioma inglés y fundamental para el desarrollo personal del estudiante,
se decidió realizar esta investigación cuantitativa con un diseño no experimental
correlacional, y se contó con una muestra representativa de 119 estudiante. Para la
recolección de datos se utilizó la técnica de la encuesta. Los instrumentos fueron el
cuestionario para la variable motivación y la prueba de conocimientos para la variable
aprendizaje del idioma inglés. Luego de realizar la prueba de hipótesis, se concluyó que la
motivación se correlaciona directamente con el aprendizaje del idioma inglés en los
estudiantes de quinto grado de la institución educativa pública San Juan; es decir, cuanto
mayor sea el nivel de motivación, mayor será el nivel de aprendizaje del idioma inglés
alcanzado por los estudiantes (rs = 0,609, lo que indica una correlación positiva moderada).
This study aimed to establish the relationship between motivation and English language learning in fifth-grade students at San Juan State Secondary School of Huamanga, Ayacucho Region, in 2019. Considering that motivation is a key factor for learning the English language and essential to the student's personal development, it was decided to carry out this quantitative investigation with a non-experimental correlational design. There was a representative sample of 119 students. The survey technique was used to collect data. The instruments were the questionnaire for the motivation variable and the knowledge test for the English language learning variable. After conducting the hypothesis testing, it was concluded that motivation directly correlates with English language learning in fifth-grade students at San Juan State Secondary School. The higher the level of motivation reaches, the higher the level of English language learning achieved by students (rs = 0.609, indicating a moderate positive correlation).
