Abstract
The objective of this research work is to use infants as references to analyze the situation of childhood anemia. The invasion of COVID-19 and the measures applied by the Peruvian government had a significant effect on the entire world population. This happened because low-income households were at greater risk from the measures applied, resulting in higher rates of childhood anemia in babies and adolescents. Peru witnessed a childhood anemia crisis as a result of the COVID-19 virus outbreak. Consequently, this research aims to reveal the magnitude of this event, as well as analyze the data on childhood anemia in Peru prior to the pandemic. This is achieved by consulting reports from the World Health Organization, the Ministry of Health and family health surveys from 2005 to 2020. In addition, this research is based on other sources, such as reports from the Family Health Demographic Surveys. Using all this information, one can better understand the epidemic of childhood anemia in Peru and its lasting effects on national policies.
