Abstract
CORROBORAR, cambiar ideas o persuadir.
The objective of this research work is that argumentative texts have the purpose of expressing opinions or discussing them with the aim of convincing the receiver so that the author can show an idea or thesis, in addition to refuting the opposite, persuading and / or applying dissuasion to the receiver in relation to some behaviors, ideas or facts. Likewise, argumentative texts are a linguistic and mental activity that points to an objective that is to debate and support a thesis as an idea that is born from some premises, ideas or facts, that is why the user must support his position by going to the references practical and theoretical of various characters and other paths: demonstration, comparison, exemplification, etc., to show, persuade or change the position on a topic. That style of elaboration is used in a scientific text, journalistic articles as well as in essays. In this oral field it is executed through round tables and debates. Specifically, in university academic fields, that style of text leads to deeper knowledge, since, born of contrast and debating ideas, greater value is given to the foundations or theoretical principles of the different disciplines. The foundation, given its relevance, is not shown in its pure state, it merges with the exhibition. Since EXPLANATION is limited to teaching, SUPPORT tries to CORROBORATE, change ideas or persuade. That is to say, referencing the separate argumentative text that fulfills the function of appeal and that is immersed in the progress of its foundations, its referential function is born where said thesis is exposed. Finally, it is stated that it is more useful in philosophical texts, scientific texts, essays, political oratory, advertising messages and journalistic opinion.
