Autoestima y el coeficiente de inteligencia de los estudiantes del Colegio América del Callao

Abstract

El objetivo de la presente investigación fue determinar la relación que existe entre la autoestima y el coeficiente de inteligencia de los estudiantes del Colegio América del Callao. El enfoque fue de una investigación cuantitativa, de tipo descriptivo correlacional, de diseño no experimental. La población estuvo compuesta por 32 estudiantes, a quienes se les aplicó un cuestionario denominado Inventario de Autoestima de Bell, de 20 preguntas con una escala de tres categorías de respuestas referida a la variable autoestima, y un cuestionario denominado Test de Dominós de Edgar Anstey de 48 preguntas, con una única alternativa de respuesta para la variable coeficiente de Inteligencia. Se realizó el análisis correspondiente a los resultados de la encuesta llegando a la demostración empírica de que el 100% de los alumnos tienen muy buena y buena autoestima; llegando a considerarse el promedio como BUENO; asimismo el promedio 43.8% de los estudiantes tienen inteligencia por encima de la media, el 51.1% están en el término medio, y el 3.1% por debajo de la media; tiene un nivel término medio. Esto fue ampliamente corroborado y contrastado empleando el chi cuadrado. Se concluyó que la autoestima se relaciona significativamente con el coeficiente de inteligencia de los estudiantes del Colegio América del Callao.

The objective of the present investigation was to determine the relationship that exists between the self-esteem and the intelligence coefficient of the students of Colegio América del Callao. The focus was on quantitative research, descriptive correlational type, non-experimental design. The population was composed of 32 students, who were given a questionnaire called Bell Self-Esteem Inventory, of 20 questions with a scale of three categories of responses referring to the self-esteem variable, and a questionnaire called Edgar Anstey's Domino Test. 48 questions, with a unique answer alternative for the variable Intelligence coefficient. The analysis corresponding to the results of the survey was made, reaching the empirical demonstration that 100% of the students have very good and good self-esteem; arriving to consider the average as GOOD; also the average 43.8% of the students have intelligence above the average, 51.1% are in the middle term, and 3.1% below the average; It has a medium term level. This was widely corroborated and contrasted using the chi square. It was concluded that self-esteem is significantly related to the intelligence coefficient of the Colegio América del Callao students.
